Early morning tomorrow... so of course, instead of getting a good night's rest like I should be, I'm on Polyvore and Youtube at 1.30am wasting valuable sleeping time. Nonetheless, I've once again been drooling over possible outfits/potential splurges and have put together this ensemble in a state of delirium. What better way is there to spend a Sunday night?

I can tell this Summer that I'm going to be choosing shorts over skirts. I'm not adverse to skirts, but every time I've ordered something or gone shopping these past few weeks, I've bought a pair of shorts. For example, these lace shorts were one of the first additions to my wardrobe - after trawling ASOS every evening in an attempt to find something feminine yet edgy, I thought these fit the requirements. Comfortable, definitely. Versatile, most definitely. So I paired them with a scallop-edged vest from Topshop, and found a random red bracelet from a Spanish market in my jewellery box to add some colour to the monochrome look.

While I've been rushing around lately, I haven't really made an effort with how I look. So in an attempt to smarten up my appearance & feel less groggy, I've been including more things feminine things in my day.

I know I've been slacking ridiculously this past week, however as I mentioned before, I've been very busy. And with busyness comes stressing - and lots of it. So while I've been living in sweats and scruffy hair lately, I thought it'd be appropriate to do a post not on my outfits, but just collect a few photos of what's been keeping me relaxed through the chaos.

As I've been a keen blog follower for some time, I've noticed a lot of posts mentioning Polyvore. I just assumed it was an online fad, but after giving in and having a look to see what the fuss is about I realised how good it is. You literally put together an outfit for free, therefore more cost-effective than blowing $$$ on something you're unsure about.
And so I present to you my Polyvore debut. Admittedly, I've neglected the blog a little as I've been seriously busy this past week and will be for about a week more. So I guess you can call this stalling.

      

Summer is a great time to experiment with different cuts and shapes, as well as bold colours and eccentric patterns. However when you wake up late after a night out - with a sore head - or it's so hot you're delirious, there's nothing more refreshing and clean looking than white. I haven't bought any new items for the summer yet, so here are my current go-to whites that I found - all very simple, all very easy to wear.

I'm definitely not one to turn down a free gift - in fact, as sad as this might sound, I get quite excited if I buy something that comes with something extra. So when I received my July issue of Elle in the post and discovered a Reiss tank top packed inside, I was eager to see what it was like (so eager I didn't bother to iron it).

Out of the four variations available, I got the nude version with a sketch of a woman on the front and 'Garance Doré' at the bottom. It's quite sheer, so I wore a black bandeau underneath, and casually slung a grey cardigan over for a bit of extra insulation. For a freebie, I think it's an nice little addition to my wardrobe.
